Our readers are trying to waste less without rebuilding their lives around it. If you have done that, measured it, or make something that helps, there is room for you here.
Writing a piece
The posts that do well here answer one practical question and answer it with numbers: what a switch saved, how long a reusable lasted, which of three options came out ahead and by how much. First-hand experience counts for more than polish.
Before you pitch, a few things we hold every piece to:
- One idea, done properly, usually 900 to 1,800 words
- A source for every figure, so a reader can check it
- No claim that a product is "green" or "eco" without saying what makes it so
- Something that fits under Budget, Family, Home, Kitchen, Products, Seasonal
You get a byline and a short bio with a link to your own site. Send the idea in a few sentences first; we answer the ones that fit.
If you make or sell something
We compare products for a living, so the most useful thing a brand can do is tell us what it makes and send the published data behind it. We may cover it in a comparison, where it will be set against its rivals whether it wins or not.
We also run a small number of sponsored articles. Each one is marked as sponsored at the top, is written for our readers rather than as an advert, and has to stay on our subject. We turn down anything we would not recommend to a friend trying to cut their footprint.
Anything else, a correction or a question, goes through the contact page.
